AC.99, 창2:8, '여호와 하나님이 동방의 에덴에 동산을'(AC.98-101)

8절, 여호와 하나님이 동방의 에덴에 동산을 창설하시고 그 지으신 사람을 거기 두시니라 And Jehovah God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

영적 인간에게 있어 생명이나 생명의 질서(order, 순서)는 이렇습니다. 주님이 신앙을 통해서 그의 이해, 이성 및 지식에 속한 것들 안으로(into the things of his understanding, reason, and memory [in ejus intellectualia, rationalia, et scientifica]) 들어가심에도 불구, 아직 그의 겉 사람은 그의 속 사람과 싸우고 있기 때문에, 지성이 주님이 아닌 그 사람 본인으로 말미암아 지식과 이성에 속한 것들을 통해서 들어가는 것처럼 보입니다. 반면, 천적 인간의 생명, 혹은 생명의 질서는 다음과 같습니다. 주님이 사랑과 사랑의 신앙을 통해서 그의 이해, 이성 및 지식에 속한 것들 안으로 들어가십니다. 그리고 거기엔 더 이상 속 사람과 겉 사람 간 싸움이 없기 때문에, 그는 이것이 참으로 그렇다는 것을 지각합니다. Life, or the order of life, with the spiritual man, is such that although the Lord flows in, through faith, into the things of his understanding, reason, and memory [in ejus intellectualia, rationalia, et scientifica], yet as his external man fights against his internal man, it appears as if intelligence did not flow in from the Lord, but from the man himself, through the things of memory and reason [per scientifica et rationalia]. But the life, or order of life, of the celestial man, is such that the Lord flows in through love and the faith of love into the things of his understanding, reason, and memory, and as there is no combat between the internal and the external man, he perceives that this is really so.

 

※ 주님이, 영적 인간의 경우는 신앙을 통해서, 천적 인간의 경우는 사랑을 통해서 그의 이해, 이성 및 지식에 관한 것들 안으로 들어가십니다. 천적 인간은 주님을 구하다 보니 지성을 얻게 되지만, 영적 인간은 지성을 구하다 보니 주님을 만나게 됩니다.

 

영적 인간일 동안, 이때까지 뒤집혔었던 질서가 천적 인간이 되면서, 회복되었다는 걸 지금 설명하고 있습니다. 이 질서, 혹은 사람을 가리켜 ‘동방의 에덴동산’(a garden in Eden in the east)이라고 합니다. Thus the order which up to this point had been inverted with the spiritual man is now described as restored with the celestial man, and this order, or man, is called a “garden in Eden in the east.”

 

※ 즉 천적 인간의 지성이란 이런 ‘거룩한 질서’(the Divine order, 신적 질서) 안에 있는 지성입니다.

 

‘여호와 하나님이 동방의 에덴에 창설하신 동산’(the garden planted by Jehovah God in Eden in the east)은 가장 높은 뜻(the supreme sense)으로는 주님 자신이십니다. 가장 내적인 뜻(the inmost sense)으로는, 이는 또한 유니버설한 뜻인데요, 바로 주님의 나라(the Lord’s kingdom), 천국입니다. 이 천국은 사람이 천적 인간이 되면 있게 될 그곳이지요. In the supreme sense, the “garden planted by Jehovah God in Eden in the east” is the Lord himself. In the inmost sense, which is also the universal sense, it is the Lord’s kingdom, and the heaven in which man is placed when he has become celestial.

 

※ ‘곳’이라고 했지만 ‘장소’가 아니라 ‘상태’입니다.

 

또 여기 있다 저기 있다고도 못하리니 하나님의 나라는 너희 안에 있느니라 (눅17:21)

 

그때 그의 상태는 천국 천사들과 함께하는 상태, 마치 그들 중 하나가 된 것 같은 그런 상태입니다. 사람은 이 세상에 살면서 동시에 천국에도 있을 수 있도록 그렇게 창조되었기 때문인데요, 이 상태에서는 그의 모든 사고(thoughts)와 사고에서 나오는 아이디어들, 그리고 심지어 그의 언행이 모두 오픈 상태이며, 심지어 주님으로부터 온 것들까지도 모두 오픈 상태입니다. 그리고 이 모든 것 안에는 천적, 영적인 것들이 담깁니다. 그 이유는, 그 하나하나에 다 주님의 생명이 들어 있기 때문인데요, 이로 인해 그는 퍼셉션을 가질 수 있게 됩니다. His state then is such that he is with the angels in heaven, and is as it were one among them; for man has been so created that while living in this world he may at the same time be in heaven. In this state all his thoughts and ideas of thoughts, and even his words and actions, are open, even from the Lord, and contain within them what is celestial and spiritual; for each one [of these] has the Lord’s life within it, which enables him to have perception.
