AC.311, 창3:24, '이같이 하나님이 그 사람을 쫓아내시고'(AC.306-313)

24절, 이같이 하나님이 그 사람을 쫓아내시고 에덴동산 동쪽에 그룹들과 두루 도는 불 칼을 두어 생명나무의 길을 지키게 하시니라 And he cast out the man; and he made to dwell from the east toward the garden of Eden cherubim, and the flame of a sword turning itself, to keep the way of the tree of lives.

저세상에서, 홍수로 사라진 사람들, 즉 태고교회의 후손들 말인데요, 그들의 상태는 다음과 같습니다. 그들은 영들의 세계(the world of spirits, 중간 영계) 그 어디에도 있을 수가 없습니다. 그러니까 그들의 특성상, 다른 영들과 함께 할 수가 없는데요, 그래서 대신 다른 사람들의 지옥들하고는 분리된 그런 어떤 지옥에 있습니다. 마치 어떤 산 아래에 있는 것 같은 지옥이지요. 이것은 마치 중간에 떠억 하니 가로막은 산처럼 보이는데, 이는 그들이 가진 무시무시한 환상과 세뇌된 신념들의 결과입니다. 그들이 가진 환상과 세뇌된 신념들은, 다른 영들을 아주 중증(重症) 인사불성 상태에 이르게 하여, 그들이 자기들이 지금 자기가 살았는지 죽었는지도 모를 정도가 되게 하는 그런 건데요, 이는 그들이 그들로부터 진리를 이해하는 모든 능력을 빼앗아버려 아무 것도 지각하지 못하게 하기 때문입니다. 이것이 그들의 능력, 곧 세상에 있을 동안에도 그랬던, 다른 사람을 세뇌하는, 다른 사람의 혼을 쏙 빼놓는 능력이었습니다. 그리고 저세상에 가서도 그들은 다른 영들을 이런 일종의 죽음으로 이르게 하지 않고는 도저히 그들과 함께할 수 없는 자들임이 예견되었고, 그래서 결국 그들은 모두 멸종, 사라진 것입니다. 홍수 후를 살았던 사람들에 대해서는 주님은 신적 자비로 홍수 전 사람들과는 다른 상태로 인도하셨습니다. In the other life, the state of those who perished by the flood is such that they cannot be in the world of spirits, or with other spirits, but are in a hell separated from the hells of others, and as it were under a certain mountain. This appears as an intervening mountain in consequence of their direful fantasies and persuasions. Their fantasies and persuasions are such as to produce so profound a stupor in other spirits that they do not know whether they are alive or dead, for they deprive them of all understanding of truth, so that they perceive nothing. Such also was their persuasive power during their abode in the world; and because it was foreseen that in the other life they would be incapable of associating with other spirits without inducing on them a kind of death, they all became extinct, and the Lord of his Divine mercy induced other states on those who lived after the flood.
