AC.211, 창3:7, '이에 그들의 눈이 밝아져'(AC.211-217)

7절, 이에 그들의 눈이 밝아져 자기들이 벗은 줄을 알고 무화과나무 잎을 엮어 치마로 삼았더라 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves girdles.

그들의 ‘눈이 밝아져’(eyes being opened)는 그들이 어떤 내적 음성(an interior dictate)을 듣고, 자기들이 ‘벗은 줄’(naked)을 알게 되었다, 즉, 자기들이 더 이상 전처럼 이노센스가 아닌, 악 안에 있음을 알고, 시인하게 되었다는 말입니다. Their “eyes being opened” signifies their knowing and acknowledging, from an interior dictate, that they were “naked,” that is, no longer in innocence, as before, but in evil.
