21절, 그의 아우의 이름은 유발이니 그는 수금과 퉁소를 잡는 모든 자의 조상이 되었으며 And his brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of everyone that playeth upon the harp and organ.

천적인 것이 사랑의 거룩한 것과 그로 인한 선이듯, 영적인 것은 신앙의 진리와 선입니다. 참되고 선한 걸 이해하는 건 신앙에 속하는 일이기 때문입니다. 신앙 지식은 이 둘을 포함하지만, 그러나 신앙이 가르치는 바대로 되는 거, 그 결과 주님 사랑의 사람이 되어 체어리티의 선을 행하는 사람이 되는 건 천적입니다. 즉 이해하고 그 안에 머무르는 건 영적이지만, 이해한 걸 실천에 옮겨 그런 사람이 되는 건 천적이라는 말입니다. 신앙이 이들 두 가지를 포함하기 때문에, 두 악기, 곧 ‘수금과 퉁소’(the harp and organ)으로 상응하고 있습니다. 하프는, 다들 아시듯 현악기이며, 그래서 영적 진리를, 그리고 오르간은 현악기와 관악기 사이 중간, 곧 영적 선을 상응합니다. As celestial things are the holy things of love and the derivative goods, so spiritual things are the truths and goods of faith; for it belongs to faith to understand not only what is true, but also what is good. The knowledges of faith involve both. But to be such as faith teaches is celestial. As faith involves both of these, they are signified by two instruments, the harp and the organ. The harp, as everyone knows, is a stringed instrument, and therefore signifies spiritual truth; but the organ, being intermediate between a stringed instrument and a wind instrument, signifies spiritual good.
