AC.394, 창4:15, '여호와께서 그에게 이르시되' (AC.392-396)

15절, 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 그렇지 아니하다 가인을 죽이는 자는 벌을 칠 배나 받으리라 하시고 가인에게 표를 주사 그를 만나는 모든 사람에게서 죽임을 면하게 하시니라 And Jehovah said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should smite him.

이제 이것을 미리 아셨고, 또 인류가 영원한 사망으로 소멸되지 않도록 하셨기 때문에, 여기 다음과 같이 선언하십니다. ‘아무도 가인을 건드리면 안 된다!’ 이 가인은 체어리티에서 분리된 신앙을 말합니다. 그리고 더 나아가 그에게 어떤 표를 주셨는데, 이 표의 의미는 주님이 어떤 특별한 방식으로 신앙을 구별하셨다는 것입니다. 신앙의 보존을 위해서지요. Now as this was foreseen, and was provided, lest the human race should perish in eternal death, it is here declared that none should do violence to Cain, by whom is signified faith separated from charity; and further that a mark was set upon him, which means that the Lord distinguished faith in a particular manner, in order to secure its preservation.  

 

※ 창세기 5장 24절, ‘에녹이 하나님과 동행하더니 하나님이 그를 데려가시므로 세상에 있지 아니하였더라’ 또한 이와 같습니다.

 

이런 사실들은 지금까지 밝혀지지 않았던 아르카나(arcana, 秘義)이며, 마태복음에서 주님이 결혼과 고자(鼓子, eunuch)에 관하여 하신 말씀 중에 언급되고 있습니다. These are arcana hitherto undiscovered, and are referred to by the Lord in what he said respecting marriage, and eunuchs, in Matthew:

 

 

어머니의 태로부터 된 고자도 있고 사람이 만든 고자도 있고 천국을 위하여 스스로 된 고자도 있도다 이 말을 받을 만한 자는 받을지어다 (마19:12) There are eunuchs who were so born from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs of men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of God’s sake; he that is able to receive it let him receive it. (Matt. 19:12)

 

천국의 결혼(the heavenly marriage) 가운데 있는 사람들을 ‘고자’라 합니다. ‘어머니의 태로부터 된’(born from the womb) 고자들은 천적 천사들을 닮았고, ‘사람이 만든’(made of men) 고자들은 영적 천사들과 비슷하며, ‘스스로 된’(made so by themselves) 고자들은 천사 같은 영들과 비슷한데, 체어리티보다는 순종으로 행하는 사람들입니다. Those in the heavenly marriage are called “eunuchs”; those so “born from the womb,” are such as resemble the celestial angels; those “made of men,” are such as are like the spiritual angels; and those “made so by themselves,” are like angelic spirits, who act not so much from charity as from obedience.  

 

※ 천국의 결혼 가운데 있는 사람들이 ‘고자’인 이유는, 영적 고자, 즉 이들은 천국과 결혼 상태에 있기 위해 지상에서 자칫 있을 수 있는 성적(性的) 문란의 악으로부터 자신을 지키고, 필요 이상의 성적 호기심으로부터 물러나 다른 사람들이 볼 때, 혹시 저 사람, 성적으로 무슨 문제 있는 거 아냐? 할 정도로 자기 자신을 지킨, 그러니까 성적으로 건강한 금욕을 한 사람들이기 때문입니다.
