AC.218, 창3:8, '그들이 그날 바람이 불 때'(AC.218-225)

8절, 그들이 그날 바람이 불 때 동산에 거니시는 여호와 하나님의 소리를 듣고 아담과 그의 아내가 여호와 하나님의 낯을 피하여 동산 나무 사이에 숨은지라 And they heard the voice of Jehovah God going to itself in the garden in the air of the day; and the man and his wife hid themselves from the face of Jehovah God in the midst of the tree of the garden.

‘동산에 거니시는 여호와 하나님의 소리’(the voice of Jehovah God going to itself in the garden)는 내면의 소리(an internal dictate, an inner dictate, the inner call)입니다. 그들로 두려움을 느끼게 하는 건데요, 이 소리는 그들이 전에 소유했던 퍼셉션(perception)이 아직 남아 있던 겁니다. ‘그날 바람이 불 때’(the air or breath of the day)는 그 교회가 아직 약간의 퍼셉션을 소유하던 기간을 가리킵니다. ‘여호와 하나님의 낯을 피하여 숨은지라’(to hide themselves from the face of Jehovah God)는 그 소리를 두려워하는 것이지요, 마치 악을 의식하는 사람들한테서 흔히 볼 수 있는 것처럼 말입니다. 그들이 자신들을 숨긴 곳에 있는 ‘동산 나무 사이에’(the midst of the tree of the garden)는 자연적 선을 의미합니다. 여기 가장 안쪽(inmost)을 ‘사이에’(the midst)라 하며, ‘나무’(the tree)는 앞서 살핀 대로 퍼셉션을 가리킵니다만, 그러나 이제는 남아 있는 퍼셉션이 거의 없어서 마치 유일하게 남은 것인 양 나무를 단수로 말하고 있습니다. By the “voice of Jehovah God going to itself in the garden” is signified an internal dictate which caused them to feel afraid, this dictate being the residue of the perception which they had possessed; by the “air” or “breath” of the “day” is denoted a period when the church still possessed some residue of perception; to “hide themselves from the face of Jehovah God” is to fear the dictate, as is wont to be the case with those who are conscious of evil; by the “midst of the tree of the garden,” in which they hid themselves, is signified natural good; that which is inmost is called the “midst”; the “tree” denotes perception as before; but because there was little perception remaining, the tree is spoken of in the singular number, as if there were only one remaining.
